4pm | Spooky Stories (for kids ages 5 and up)
10pm | After Dark (for adults)
Free and open to the public
The Cyclorama becomes the setting for a series of storytelling events on a cold winter’s night. Inspired by the old English tradition of mid-winter fireside stories, the BCA teams up with Nora Dooley of massmouth, inc. and BCA Emerging Theatre Company imaginary beasts to present an evening of stories for all ages. Bring your blankets and flashlights and enjoy hot seasonal beverages while listening to campfire classics.
The afternoon begins at 4pm with a family-friendly hour-long segment of mysteries, hauntings and eerie encounters. At 10pm things get darker and spookier for Boston’s late-night crowd. Throughout each event, imaginary beasts will entertain audiences with excerpts from their newest production, Winter Panto 2013 - Legend of Sleepy Hollow, running in the Plaza Black Box Theatre from January 11 – February 2, 2013.
Want to share your own spooky story on January 18th? Here’s how:
Step 1: Submit your personal accounts of mysterious events, an eerie piece of local folklore or legend, or a favorite childhood ghost story. Record your story on the massmouth, inc. blog between Tuesday, January 2nd and Monday, January 14th.
Step 2: Selected presenters will be contacted by the BCA on Wednesday, January 16th.
Step 3: Join us for the 10pm Cyclorama Story Hour on Friday, January 18th to share your story with
massmouth, inc., imaginary beasts and BCA audiences!
