Event Description

 "How to Tell a Kick Butt 5 Minute Story" with Andrea Lovett co founder of massmouth.

 Come and enjoy a fun and thoughtful two-hour workshop to cultivate a story based on personal experience into a performance. This workshop is a great introduction for beginner storytellers into the art-from of storytelling.

In this workshop you will begin to learn how storytelling differs from theater, stand up, or twisting balloon animals. With the instruction and coaching ofmassmouth professional storytellers you will explore the art of story telling through guided sense memory, writing, performance, individual and group exercises.

 Limited to 16 and minimum of 6 to run. Please arrive by 6:15 to sign in workshop begins at 6:30 pm.

Stories in the Streets in an outreach literacy program that focuses on families in at-risk areas and fosters community engagement in storytelling by: 1) Creating opportunities for public storytelling wherever families gather — a farmer’s market, laundromat, or food line; and, 2) Offering storytelling workshops that raise family engagement in literacy, cultural awareness and community understanding.  The program is currently active in Lawrence, Brockton and Randolph.
