Event Description

1st Sundays doors 6:30 show 7:00

$10 admission tickets here

There’s a new “flavah" in town! We’re twisting it up at Doyles story slams in Jamacia Plain and combining all the delicious flavors of a story slam and humor that only the founder of Boston comedy chicks and a co-founder of massmouth can bring. Robin Maxfield and Andrea Lovett  present a new series of storytelling slams in a familiar venue. Check our website  to check for the monthly theme and dig up the dirt on your life for some hilarious, endearing and thought provoking tales.

Each month a theme is provided to provide framework for the 10 tellers selected.  Trivia games with prizes take place in between tellers while the judges judge.  Stories are 5 minutes long.  $50 cash prize for 1st place and $25 Doyle’s give certificate for 2nd place.

Where can you experience a plane crash in the amazon, give birth to quadruplets and get trapped inside your own sleeping bag, all from the safety of your own chair? At a story slam of course!

Come and share your own human experience or listen to outrageous true tales from Boston and beyond. Think you can tell a great story? Come and share your five minute  story for a panel of three to five judges. Competitors will drop their name in a hat and be chosen at random to compete against nine other tellers.

Rather sit back and watch the events unravel? Listeners have an opportunity to participate in storytelling games and vote for an audience choice winner.

We can’t wait to listen to your great stories!

Mom always loved her best! Bring your sibling rivalry story to the #siblingslam @doylescafe!
