On March 17th LANES The Northeast Storytelling Conference will present a story slam at their regional conference. (free and open to the public)

Theme E-Erie Nights

Co Host Joseph Bruchac

As a professional teller of the traditional tales of the Adirondacks and the Native peoples of the Northeastern Woodlands, Joe Bruchac has performed widely in Europe and throughout the United States from Florida to Hawaii and has been featured at such events as the British Storytelling Festival and the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesboro, Tennessee. 


About the Theme E-Erie Nights 

Ever had moment you shudder to think about? Haunting coincidences? Déjà vu? Déjà vu? Ever been on the Erie late at night? Bring your 4min. story on the theme and drop your name in the hat. 

Tellers from slam venues in New England will be represented including a grand slam winner of the Moth as well as winners from the Campus Slammer in Connecticut , a massmouth BigMouthoff winner from Mass. slams and representatives from The Front Parlor Series in New York.

Stories in the Streets in an outreach literacy program that focuses on families in at-risk areas and fosters community engagement in storytelling by: 1) Creating opportunities for public storytelling wherever families gather — a farmer’s market, laundromat, or food line; and, 2) Offering storytelling workshops that raise family engagement in literacy, cultural awareness and community understanding.  The program is currently active in Lawrence, Brockton and Randolph.
