Linda McClain, known affectionately as Mama Linda, tells tales in the African-American tradition. These are stories of wisdom and have a definite moral compass. She learned many of them from her own grandmother and brings them alive with music, drumming and movement. The evening begins with an Open Mic at 7, where tellers are encouraged to try new material and the audience gives each story their undivided attention. First-time tellers are guaranteed a spot and listeners are always welcome. Linda's feature begins at 8:15. The venue is close to Central Sq. There is free parking after 6 in the lot on the corner of Prospect St. and Bishop Allen Dr. We ask a suggested $5 donation to help our venue thrive.
