Event Description

Muriel Horowitz shares personal and family stories and tales from many cultures, especially from her Jewish heritage. She is a founder of an Interfaith Story Circle which meets monthly to share stories from a variety of traditions. Traveling in from Poughkeepsie, this will be a rare Story Space visit for her.

Every Tuesday night is Story Space from 6:45 to 9:00pm

 

Storytelling for all ages, levels, & experience in a friendly, cooperative venue where seasoned tellers and newcomers alike are received with full attention. Try out a new story or spin an old favorite. No Topics. No Competition. No Judging. Just Stories.

 

There is a $5 requested donation.

Signup for Open Telling (8-minute slots) 6:45 – 7:00pm.

Open Telling starts at 7:00pm sharp, followed by the Featured Teller.

MBTA Subway: Red Line (Davis Square Stop); About 5 blocks from Davis Sq. up College Ave -- HS is a yellow house on the right. • MBTA Bus line:  Routes 94 and 96. • Parking: the HS parking area is not available before 7:00 PM. The driveway splits in two, take the left side. • Accessibility: Havurat Shalom is Handicap Accessible via a ramp in the rear • Food: Food is allowed, as long as it is Vegetarian or Dairy. No meat, please! • Allergy Free: HS is a Non-Smoking place. Also, please avoid wearing strong  scents such as perfume, cologne, or after shave.

Stories in the Streets in an outreach literacy program that focuses on families in at-risk areas and fosters community engagement in storytelling by: 1) Creating opportunities for public storytelling wherever families gather — a farmer’s market, laundromat, or food line; and, 2) Offering storytelling workshops that raise family engagement in literacy, cultural awareness and community understanding.  The program is currently active in Lawrence, Brockton and Randolph.

This season the Company Theater Norwell

will be hosting The Grand Slam Story Slam on May 5th 7:30PM.
