Pen to Paper is a five-week creative writing workshop led by writer/author Laura Lovett at Storybook Cove in Hanover's Merchant's Row 2053 Washington St.,Hanover.

 

Writers ages eight thru sixteen will enjoy exploring different genres including newspapers writing, poetry, mystery, personal narrative, and fictional writing. There will be five workshops in all.  Each workshop will feature one of the above topics .The cost is $20.00 per session or $60.00 if paid in advance for five.  Workshops will include a writer's journal and pen.  All work will be featured in a newspaper distributed and published by Storybook Cove. Lovett is a local author and has had several works published both locally and in national magazines. She's also one two awards for her craft.  The first session begins Wednesday June 22nd at 2pm to 4:30pm. If more than four teens sign up a separate group for them will be created. Stories in the Streets in an outreach literacy program that focuses on families in at-risk areas and fosters community engagement in storytelling by: 1) Creating opportunities for public storytelling wherever families gather — a farmer’s market, laundromat, or food line; and, 2) Offering storytelling workshops that raise family engagement in literacy, cultural awareness and community understanding.  The program is currently active in Lawrence, Brockton and Randolph.
