Event Description

R. Jim Stahl: Writer and Performer  ||  Kate Lohman: Director

R. Jim Stahl boldly takes on race, privilege, and manhood. In the Woodstock era, everyone's making bombs - including our one-eyed, two-fisted hero: Monocular Man!

It's the era of Vietnam, Woodstock and dot matrix. Everyone's making bombs,  including our longhaired, short-winded, one-eyed, two-fisted, bar-mitzvahed hero. Monocular Man travels fine suburbs from Boston to Miami, taking on race, class, privilege, and manhood (his own). Critics say, "Brave!" “Funny,” “Swift,” “Eloquent” and “Hopeful!”

Selected in 2013 to Chicago Fringe, the New York International Fringe, and United Solo Theatre festivals.

The evening will begin with our usual Open Mic.  Tellers have eight minutes to share a story.  First-time tellers are guaranteed a spot and listeners are always welcome.

The feature begins around 8:15.

The venue is handy to Central Square and the Out of the Blue Gallery is a feast for the senses that encourages all  forms of creativity.  There is a $5 suggested donation.  The funds help to ensure that our weekly gatherings will continue, as they have for almost 22 years
