No Layoffs
No Closings

Join community, religious, political, and labor activists at a public meeting on the fate of the library system. We as a community make up the library and should have a say in the future of the Boston Public Library and its branches. Come together to demand real change and build a better library system in our community.

I wish an RSVP choice was "Cannot attend" instead of "Will not attend." The latter sounds so negative, as if I'm refusing. As a librarian I fully support your taking this stand. I just won't be able to leave my NH library to be there--but will join you in spirit!

Stories in the Streets in an outreach literacy program that focuses on families in at-risk areas and fosters community engagement in storytelling by: 1) Creating opportunities for public storytelling wherever families gather — a farmer’s market, laundromat, or food line; and, 2) Offering storytelling workshops that raise family engagement in literacy, cultural awareness and community understanding.  The program is currently active in Lawrence, Brockton and Randolph.
