Doyles Cafe story slam "siblings and roommates"

Take your pick was your roommate your sibling picky growing up? 
Did you have a roommate with quirky habits?

pick one or both

Each month a theme is provided to provide framework for the 10 tellers selected.  Trivia games with prizes take place in between tellers while the judges judge.  Stories are 5 minutes long.  $ cash prize for 1st place and $Doyle’s give certificate for 2nd place.

 

Where can you experience a plane crash in the amazon, give birth to quadruplets and get trapped inside your own sleeping bag, all from the safety of your own chair? At a story slam of course! 

 

Come and share your own human experience or listen to outrageous true tales from Boston and beyond. Think you can tell a great story? Come and share your five minute  story for a panel of three to five judges. Competitors will drop their name in a hat and be chosen at random to compete against nine other tellers.

Stories in the Streets in an outreach literacy program that focuses on families in at-risk areas and fosters community engagement in storytelling by: 1) Creating opportunities for public storytelling wherever families gather — a farmer’s market, laundromat, or food line; and, 2) Offering storytelling workshops that raise family engagement in literacy, cultural awareness and community understanding.  The program is currently active in Lawrence, Brockton and Randolph.
