Event Description

Join the International Institute of New England and honor the contributions of refugees and immigrants throughout the region through the timeless art of live storytelling.

Local foreign and U.S.- born residents will perform first-person stories on themes of refugee resettlement and immigrant integration. 

All funds support International Institute of New England programming including refugee resettlement, English language education, workforce training, citizenship services, and more.

Hosted in partnership with Massmouth, TripAdvisor, and IINE's Resettle Together West Suburban Consortium.

Ticket Prices

$25 General Admission

$100 VIP (includes preferred seating and private reception with storytellers). 

Additional Notes:

6:30pm Pre-performance reception (hosted in room adjacent to the stage at TripAdvisor Headquarters)

7:30pm Performance, Doors open at 6:45pm

Grand Prize for South Shore Grand Slam Story Slam generously donated by Nicolette Heavey and Stories In The Streets (A Maine Get Away)

Stories in the Streets in an outreach literacy program that focuses on families in at-risk areas and fosters community engagement in storytelling by: 1) Creating opportunities for public storytelling wherever families gather — a farmer’s market, laundromat, or food line; and, 2) Offering storytelling workshops that raise family engagement in literacy, cultural awareness and community understanding.  The program is currently active in Lawrence, Brockton and Randolph.
