Hey Folks this is from my friend Bob he went to Sharing the Fire last week end in Warwick RI
Dear LANES folk and everyone responsible for STF,

Thank You!!!!!!!

12 years ago, Nancy Mellon and several LANES members persuaded me to come to something called Sharing the Fire, where I would meet storytellers from all over the East.

What an incredible event it was -- crammed into some school -- I can't even remember the name. But I do remember walking around a school yard covered with snow and ice, and thinking -- Damn it is still winter up here!!

I remember a crowded entrance corridor, losing my coat, meeting Brother Blue and Ruth and Tom McCabe and Jackson Gillman and a hundred others. Who knew there were so many story-tellers in the world? But strangely, I didn't feel intimidated in the slightest. I felt welcomed!!!!

I think that weekend was a major reason I continued in this weird profession.

In A dozen years, the fire has lost none of its warmth!! I love it. No matter the weather outside, every time I return, I am home!!

Thank you to everyone who has helped make this annual miracle happen, and thank you to Loretta and Tom and the Board and .... I just started to list all the names of all those who made this week's miracle, and I realized I'd never stop.. So, Thank you to every one who brought the flame to life again this year!

Let's Keep that Fire A-roaring!!!!

With Great Thanks,

Bob Reiser
