Share 'Rebuilding Lives-Miriam Van Waters & the Framingham Women's Reformatory'
Superintendent Van Waters in the 1930's and 40's instituted many progressive reforms aimed at rehabilitating inmates at the Framingham Reformatory. Since she believed her task was to educate the women in how to live after their release, she called them “Students.”
