As I walked into the bar a familiar voice struck my eardrums. "Are you going to tell tonight?" The voice was that of Laura Cannon, one of the judges for tonight's Story Slam. "No," I replied "I'm just here to listen." This was a question I was asked repeatedly as I settled into the backroom at Doyle's Cafe in Jamaica Plain for what had promised to be an invigorating night of story telling. As a story slam veteran, I was excited for the season to begin and I was not disappointed. Last seasons…See More

"This month, our theme is "Lost and Found." Event Organizer Sally Cragin explains: "This is a big topic and can include a variety of experiences. Have you ever been totally lost? Did you lose your heart to someone? Did you lose a pet? Did you ever find something in an unexpected way? Has someone found you? Ever lost faith? Lost hope? Found hope? Have your losses and/or searches influenced you?" See More

glad to see you last night. We are delighted you would like to help us. What usually happens with the venues is that the producer of the venue is the host as a reward (as it takes a lot of threads and work to pull it together) but in that vein we always need producers. How about being a judge for the Lowell slam? That would be great. The producer of that slam is Obehi Janice. I can ask her if she still needs judges (and I am sure she does) would you care to do that? That slam is on the 15th of November. The voice overs we are working on and thank you for volunteering. We are just beginning with them. We will let you know and it will be up in writing soon. We will talk soon let me know about Lowell if you're interested in judging up there and I will drop her a line today.
HI Jefferey, Sorry we are back logged with all the things that are going on at massmouth right now. We will get them up and are working on it. We have had the semis, the high schools , the final and the final high school program to work on. Plus teaching everyday in the high schools so we've accumulated a back log. We have volunteers coming in to help us and they are doing a fine job. You are welcome to come in if you'd like (we'll teach you if you don't know how" and download. Are you coming to the finals at Rabb Hall next week? Hope to see you there!, Best,Andrea
