Important Legislation!

"Disaster/Emergency Aid for Massachusetts Artists working in all disciplines.

This fund will be used to help artists who have had a health care emergency

(i.e. could not pay their medical bills or medical insurance) as well as to help

those artists who suffered other types of emergencies (fires, floods, theft).

Oct 5th is a hearing by the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts & Cultural Development-

Remembering Aafia

So, it's the day after, and we move forward from the brief collapse of all that we thought we knew into a still uncertain future, only with another new heart wrenching pain to solemnize the passing anniversary. It's like we are all together as one, sitting shivah, reciting kaddish, comforting and supporting one another. Finally with you all

Hey, I am finally signing on and hope to show up at a MassMouth event sometime this fall. Thanks to those of you who have given this group momentum. It's been a rough year dealing with aging parents, but on the bright side, I have much to tell about the amazing trip my family took to China this summer, and I have a new work space at the Gorse Mill Artists' Studios in Needham. Hope to catch up with many of you in the near future.

Grand Prize for South Shore Grand Slam Story Slam generously donated by Nicolette Heavey and Stories In The Streets (A Maine Get Away)

Stories in the Streets in an outreach literacy program that focuses on families in at-risk areas and fosters community engagement in storytelling by: 1) Creating opportunities for public storytelling wherever families gather — a farmer’s market, laundromat, or food line; and, 2) Offering storytelling workshops that raise family engagement in literacy, cultural awareness and community understanding.  The program is currently active in Lawrence, Brockton and Randolph.
