Framingham’s storyteller supreme, Libby Franck will feature at April 3 Amazing Open Comedy Mique show at 7:30 PM at Amazing Things Arts Center at 160 Hollis st in downtown Framingham.Tickets are available at the door for just $6 and only $5 for Amazing members.

Libby Franck has storytelling in her bones, and she will tickle your funny bone too! Libby's stories, both fantastical and historical, told with theatrical zeal, celebrate the triumph of the human spirit through courage, wit, tenacity and trickery. Her myths, legends and folk tales frequently feature intrepid heroines. She formerly hosted of the The OutSpoken Word at AMAZING Things and has been a regular performer at the Comedy Mique show

The Wellesley College and Simmons College of Library Science graduate went on to
studied storytelling at Simmons and Lesley Colleges, and has studied international storytelling, classical mythology and Arthurian legends

For 13 years, she produced an award winning storytelling TV show "Tales from Cricket Corner" on Natick Cable featuring storytelling.
Most recently she has been a regular researcher and performer of historical stories for the Framingham History Center where she seeks out strong, daring and unusual women of history to research and dramatize.

The Amazing Open Comedy Mique show is presented at the Amazing Things Arts Center in downtown Framingham on the first Wednesday of each month. The show, now in its 4th season, offers a 30 minute feature performance and a number of other shorter PG13 comedic performances by artists doing all forms of comedy including stand-up, humorous stories, comedic songs, physical comedy, magic, improv., ventriloquism and more.

Stories in the Streets in an outreach literacy program that focuses on families in at-risk areas and fosters community engagement in storytelling by: 1) Creating opportunities for public storytelling wherever families gather — a farmer’s market, laundromat, or food line; and, 2) Offering storytelling workshops that raise family engagement in literacy, cultural awareness and community understanding.  The program is currently active in Lawrence, Brockton and Randolph.
