On Mother's Day. Put away your bromide filled cards, clean up after 'your' brunch and put the flowers in some water. Then come hear the real deal about motherhood. in song and story.

Belle Linda Halpern has performed as a cabaret
singer and actor at clubs and theatres in New York,
Boston, San Francisco, Paris, Munich, Jerusalem,
and Bombay. Belle’s show CRAVINGS: Songs of
Hunger& Satisfaction, was nominated for an IRNE
award best solo show and named in best theater
roundup in the Boston Globe. mother of 2.

Robin Maxfield performed to sold out audiences
in Boston and LA with her own script for Expressing
Motherhood. She is a two time massmouth
story slam winner and emcees story slams
monthly in Jamaica Plain. Her background is in
marketing, sales, training and promotions. mother of 2.

Marcy Goldberg Sacks is a comedian,
award winning children’s television
producer and art director and mother of 3
girls under age four. In addition to making
lunches and wiping, she will be hosting a
women comedy night with Robin at
Bella Luna starting this fall. mother of 3.


Norah Dooley is a storyteller, educator, activist, critically acclaimed  children’ s author and co-founder of and the Greater Boston Story Slam series. She has an MEd in Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University and a BFA in Painting from Tufts University/Museum School. She lives in Brookline, MA with her husband and a revolving subset of their progeny. mother of 4

Grand Prize for South Shore Grand Slam Story Slam generously donated by Nicolette Heavey and Stories In The Streets (A Maine Get Away)

Stories in the Streets in an outreach literacy program that focuses on families in at-risk areas and fosters community engagement in storytelling by: 1) Creating opportunities for public storytelling wherever families gather — a farmer’s market, laundromat, or food line; and, 2) Offering storytelling workshops that raise family engagement in literacy, cultural awareness and community understanding.  The program is currently active in Lawrence, Brockton and Randolph.
