Event Description

Barbara Kasselmann will be our featured performer on Wednesday, January 20th at SPEAK UP! Spoken Word Open Mike at Tatiana's in Lynn, MA. New poems about Rhapsodies, Larceny, and The Picnic Table at Englewood Dam she'll bring to read to you- if you clap loudly, whistle and hoot. She'll also do a repeat performance of her Young Lover Blues which she performed last time she was here. Tony got all excited when she shared it last time, so she'll dust it off just for him. You can listen too. She will tell a little bit about where she's been, where she's lived, and why she writes what she does. She'll read her poems about being a mother, lover, grandmother, writer, photographer and traveler. She loves art and music and literature, and riding trains, which is why she enjoys coming up to Lynn on the Purple Line. In Toledo they call her Babs. Now that's a packed half hour, the Good Lord willin' and the rain don't hurt the rhubarb.

SPEAK UP! meets every Wednesday. We gather at 7 PM. Sign up at 7 PM to get your own five minute slot of fame at the microphone. The Open Mike starts at 7:30. Our featured performer goes on at 8:30 PM followed by more Open Mikers till 10 PM. FREE.
