Stow, MA's own story slam in the exurbs!
Friday, January 29, 2010
Fellowship Hall at First Parish Church of Stow, 353 Great Rd, Stow, MA
(near intersection of routes 117 and 62)
7-9 pm Refreshments available
10 people chosen to tell a five-minute story, judged by 10 volunteers from the audience. $50 gift card from Willow Books in Acton to the winner! Two local storytellers will introduce with their own tales.
Legendary teacher Kevin Keaveney, from Hale Middle School, Master of Ceremonies
$5 suggested donation at the door to benefit
The Stow Community Chest

Great to see the stow slam at massmouth! "....sincerest form of flattery" - that's what we tell The Moth - tho' in truth we have been telling stories on themes for decades here in New England. Break a leg - I hope to get out there!

Stories in the Streets in an outreach literacy program that focuses on families in at-risk areas and fosters community engagement in storytelling by: 1) Creating opportunities for public storytelling wherever families gather — a farmer’s market, laundromat, or food line; and, 2) Offering storytelling workshops that raise family engagement in literacy, cultural awareness and community understanding.  The program is currently active in Lawrence, Brockton and Randolph.
