Congratulations to all the participants in StoriesLive® first ever
high school story slam. The scores were really close and all the
tellers were ‘winners’ by bringing their stories and energy!

  We have the three prize winners:
  1st place for $2,000 scholarship for any post-secondaryeducational endeavor –
  Brianda Agramonte, Lynn Classical High School, senior

  2 runners up  $1,000 scholarship for any post-secondary educational endeavor-
  Matthews DeSouza, Everett High School, junior
  Conor Miller  Newburyport High School, junior

  And our massmouth choice for a $500 award for any post-secondary
educational endeavor-
  Sandy Fonseca, Boston Latin Academy, senior

  Remaining award (in $5,000 purse--take out) is Audience Choice.
This is a $500 prize scholarship for any post-secondary educational
endeavor as well. Please vote at this link: DO NOT vote for someone
who has already won. One prize per contestant and one vote per person
– a valid email or phone #  is required for the vote to count.

 Winners will be notified how to claim their scholarship. Congratulations all!

Grand Prize for South Shore Grand Slam Story Slam generously donated by Nicolette Heavey and Stories In The Streets (A Maine Get Away)

Stories in the Streets in an outreach literacy program that focuses on families in at-risk areas and fosters community engagement in storytelling by: 1) Creating opportunities for public storytelling wherever families gather — a farmer’s market, laundromat, or food line; and, 2) Offering storytelling workshops that raise family engagement in literacy, cultural awareness and community understanding.  The program is currently active in Lawrence, Brockton and Randolph.
