Thanks for the feedback! I kindof guessed that there was a backlog of stuff from all the events, but wanted to check in. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the Finals next week as I have a prior commitment that night.
All I can say is WOW ! What an amazing conference, what amazing people, what a stimulating environment to be in. Thank you SO MUCH for the opportunity to participate, every teacher should somehow get themselves to such a conference.
I did a story called "Bangkok" at New Year's slam eve event at the Hynes. I won or was a finalist (can't remember which). You gave me a prize packet and a nice t-shirt, which says "winner 2010-2011."
I know this wasn't a conventional story-slam, but it was big deal for me!
Would you mind if I mentioned it on my performance resume? Maybe something like, "Finalist, Massmouth First Night Slam 2011," or some such?
Thanks! I had a great time last night, and I particularly loved how supportive the crowd was. I work near Kennedy's, so I hope to make it to the next slam over there!
Yes, I met Karen when she called me and we started lessons. I have written a lot but have done no story telling, which does not preclude me from trying! My background is that of a ballad singer, sound engineer and the many and varied jobs I have done to pay the bills. I'm looking into assisting Karen with some sound reinforcement and video production for her upcoming open mics. In my very short association with Karen I find her vivacious, intelligent and a joy to teach. As for Massmouth, I was impressed with the quality of stories I heard on youtube and even more so with the group as a whole. You folks seem wonderfully different... maybe I've finally found my tribe! Thanks for the welcome!!
Thank you for the very sweet welcome! I was sorry to miss your workshop this week but I am looking forward to attending one in the future. Perhaps we can meet in person on Monday? Take care.
Peace,
Mayme
Hi Andrea,
Thanks for the warm welcome! I had a quick question: Is there any way to access the video of our performances? I'd love to see/share the T-telling from Precinct. Any info you can send my way would be great. Happy Turkey Day!

Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to attending the workshop in a couple of weeks.
Hi Andrea
Wish I could come through for the slam, but I am in Oakland. I am looking to start a Massmouth aligned slam in the Bay Area. When I'm in Boston, I will come through.
Hi, Andrea. I will definitely get up northish so I can see what a slam is all about. I don't usually tell personal narratives, and at 5 minutes I'm just getting warmed up, but I'd love to see you in action. I'll look at my calendar and see what works. Thanks of the invitation.
